Steve Gerson, Coach of the
1997 Gold Medal British Virgin Islands Culinary Team and author of
'Contemporary Caribbean Cusine' has been Chef of his own award winning
restaurant, Food & Beverage Director at a number of exclusive Caribbean
Resorts, and Consultant to properties throughout the Caribbean.
While conservation of energy, food safety and food freshness is
important worldwide, it was the particular difficulties faced by
isolated island resorts that after thirty years in the Hotel and
Restaurant Industry, led Mr. Gerson to the development of RD FRESH.
Leo Thompson, along with his daughter Nariba, and nephew Alwyn, is
bringing RD FRESH to Barbados.
Nariba is a ten year veteran of the Barbados Hotel Industry who has
worked at Sam Lord’s Castle, Almond Beach and Sandy Lane. Alwyn has
nineteen years of Food & Beverage experience, having worked for Canadian
Pacific, Princess Hotels and Fairmont Hotels.
In 2004 he was awarded Employee Of The Year by the Fairmont Hotels.
That same year he has also received an award from The Barbados
Tourism Authority for his knowledge and professionalism. With fifteen
years of cooking, baking and pastry experience in the past, Leo
recognizes the value of longer lasting, fresher tasting foods, and is
thrilled to be able to bring RD FRESH to the next generation of Bajan
Chefs. |
